Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade Statue Roasted by the Internet
Dwyane Wade’s Hall of Fame career saw him win three NBA Championships with the Miami Heat, earning him the status of franchise legend. The 2006 NBA Finals MVP spent the majority of his career with Miami, and the franchise decided to honor his efforts with a statue outside of Kaseya Center to immortalize him for future generations of Heat fans.
The statue was unveiled officially Sunday, with Wade on hand for the affair. He is the first Heat player to have such an honor.

While Wade seemed to be blown away by the presentation of the statue, NBA social media had a slightly different reaction to its unveiling.

Multiple X users noted a striking resemblance to Frasier star Kelsey Grammer, particularly when bearded.
It legit looks more like Kelsey Grammer than Dwyane Wade.

If you take a close look at the statue, it appears he fits right in with his Big 3 companions from his Miami Heat prime!

It may be hard to believe, but Wade reportedly was deeply involved in the creation of his statue. He visited the creator four times during its construction, and seemed to have input on the project.
Dwyane Wade helped the sculptor of his statue reshape portions of his face. @Rachel__Nichols details Dwyane’s involvement in the making of his statue outside of the Miami Heat arena.

Of course, the reveal was mostly done through screens, so only those in person could see the finest of details. Apparently, it’s not nearly as bad up close to the human eye.
For what it’s worth, finally getting up close to the Dwyane Wade statue and have to say it looks much better than in pictures.
I think the jawline is stronger so it really changes the face when you’re not looking up at it too much. pic.twitter.com/RSuWB8Ezbc

After all, this is a way to pay homage to one of the greatest players of his generation. And if Wade is happy with the statue itself, then isn’t that all that matters?
That is your house indeed; forever @DwyaneWade ⚡️🙌 pic.twitter.com/EC7h0K4oBZ
