Mirror Images: 12 Celebrity Look-alikes Who Make Us Do a Double Take
According to one study, nearly everyone on the planet has a doppelganger and may even share some DNA with them. However, most of us will never know or meet that mirror-image person. Perhaps it’s because celebrities are in the spotlight that finding doppelgangers is much easier. The following 12 celebrities look so uncannily similar that people question whether or not they’re related.
1. Brooke Satchwell and Billie Piper
Australian-born Brooke Satchwell (Thor) shares enough of a resemblance to English actress Billie Piper (Doctor Who) that many people cannot tell which actress is which at first glance in photos. It might be different in film because they sound very different from one another despite mastering foreign accents.
2. Kym Whitley and Jackée Harry
“What the Parent Trap is this?” commented one viewer. Kym Whitley is an American actress and comedian born in Shaker Heights, Ohio, and Jackée Harry is an American actress born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. While hailing from entirely different states, their resemblance makes you question whether they’re related.
3. Tom Hardy and Logan Marshall-Green
Tom Hardy is an English actor and producer born in Hammersmith, London, England, and Logan Marshall-Green is an American actor born in Charleston, South Carolina. Worlds apart, but if one of them was trying to use the other’s passport to enter the country, I wouldn’t question it.
4. Javier Bardem and Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Javier Bardem of No Country for Old Men fame is a Spanish actor, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan from The Walking Dead is an American actor born in Seattle, Washington, USA. If I didn’t know better, though, I would think these guys were brothers.
5. Bailee Madison and Maia Mitchell
Hailing from Florida, Bailee Madison is an actress famous for her roles in family-oriented films and Hallmark’s Good Witch. Australian-born Maia Mitchell would fit in if they ever needed to replace her. The actress can be seen in Disney’s The Artful Dodger.
6. Will Ferrell and Chad Smith
Will Ferrell is a comedian from California, and Chad Smith is a musician from Minnesota. While they certainly could switch in photos, I feel they would fail if they tried to reproduce one another’s talents.
7. Jaime Pressly, Margot Robbie, and Samara Weaving
I know I’ve been guilty of seeing one of these actresses on the big screen and thinking it was one of the others! Not just one doppelganger but two. Margot Robbie and Samara Weaving come from different parts of Australia, but Jaime Pressly is from North Carolina.
8. Emily Blunt and Eve Myles
I remember watching the Doctor Who spinoff series Torchwood and initially thinking I was watching Emily Blunt when, in fact, I was watching Eve Myles. They look slightly different from one another now they’ve aged, but it was hard to tell the British actors apart 20 years ago.
9. Chris O’Dowd and David Doherty
These guys are both Irish actors and comedians. They also both have stories about being mistaken for one another. The main thing that differentiates them is their stand-up comedy and mannerisms.
10. Timothy Olyphant and Josh Duhamel
Timothy Olyphant, known for his roles in Justified and The Santa Clarita Diet, and Josh Duhamel, known for his role in Transformers, actually have the best doppelganger story: they met at a baseball game, and Duhamel had his photo taken with Olyphant’s family. The photo sat on Olyphant’s Mom’s fridge. Unbeknownst to her, it wasn’t her son in the picture.
11. Haley Lu Richardson and Zoey Deutch
You may recognize Arizona-born Haley Lu Richardson from her roles in Five Feet Apart and The Edge of Seventeen, or you might have mistaken her for Zoey Deutch who hails from Los Angeles and is best known for Before I Fall and Zombieland: Double Tap. A fan says that it took them years to finally stop mixing them up.
12. Benicio Del Toro and Brad Pitt
Fellow writer Ben Rice brought these doppelgangers to my attention. Benicio Del Toro was born in Puerto Rico, and Brad Pitt was born in Oklahoma, but they definitely look like they share DNA from somewhere in their family trees.
Reliving 10 Movie Jokes That Finally Made Sense Years Later
Have you ever re-watched one of your favorite movies, only to find yourself laughing at something you never noticed before? So many jokes flew over my head the first time I watched a movie. We aren’t alone. A group of movie lovers gathered to share the jokes they got when they watched a movie a few times.
